Hi,
My Betta pi pair has spawned 5 times but is still unable to produce any fry. Any advice? pH at 3.9, kH and dH very low (not measured actually).
Photo of their last spawn. See the small throat bulge.

hi hermi ,
wir werden uns nächsten monat sehen ! da komm ich nach horka .
Hi Zahar
I keep and breed my pi in plain tapwater ..pH 7, mS round 500. When I started with pi I filtered thru peat..I stopped it long time ago , really no need.
I feed them well, mainly bloodworm and I had 3 spawns the last 6 months , latest was on june 9...I have round 200 pifry in different sizes right now, largest 6-7 cm and smallest 2-3 ( from june).
I hope you succeed in breeding them ..it is a delightful betta!
best wishes

Thanks. I'll see what I can do.

Also try to keep the male alone while brooding; females like to herras them!
Following Torben's advice, I increased the pH to 4.5 (from 3.9 previously) and darkened the tank further. Surely enough, it worked. Here's some photos:
The fry at day 12
The embrace ...
The male holding the clutch from the latest spawn (at day 6). Note a fry from the previous spawn in the foreground.

Good work! Congrats

hi,
the last 3 photos are not b.pi
sebastian
Yes they are....
hello stefan,
what convinces you? the characteristic pi at the throat is missing; those flowed (tail) are perfectly atypical; and...this colouring is likewise unknown to me
Hi Sebastian,
The pi shape is there; in photo 3 it can be seen best, though it' indistinct. They can easily makl it really faint if they want to. The caudal fin is shaped as it should be, trust me; I've some myself. Plus, Zahar collected them from a specific location. They are pi, trust me.
