Hello everybody. I’m Andrea and I write from Italy.
I need your help in order to identify with certainty these fishes. They are 4 exemplary (wild). I believe that they are 2 males and 2 females of Parosphromenus bintan, but of I’m not sure.
Many Thanks for the answers.
Hi Andrea, it`s not easy to determinate:
Please wait some days and try to get a better pic from the male with opened anal fin.
I could (now) see a roundtailed type of bintan/harveyi group.
- with whitish ventral (pectoral) filaments: only alfredi, bintan, cf. bintan "blue-line", cf. bintan "Sentang", cf. bintan "Danau Ransau" (Group of paros from Sumatra)
A lot of vivid red in caudal: alfredi, The lack of red in anal and dorsal and bright red in caudal: a new form of cf. alfredi?????.
Redbrown in caudalfin: P. cf. bintan "Sentang" and others from Sumatra (this form shows normally in caudal redbrown, but full.-coloured no more red (but black in center zone) in caudal fin.
We should wait for more details and for a picture shows the colour of anal fin. Were do you get them?
Martin Hallmann
Emha, many thanks for the answer.
I’ll try to make a better picture of the male anal fin. It’s not easy, because the tank is 126 liters with many plants……
In the meantime, look these other pictures, if they can be useful
However, you confirm that they are 2 couple?
P.S.: I have bought them in a store in Rome. They come from Holland.
I think it`s a Parosphromenus cf. bintan like "Sentang". Not identic, but a cf. bintan type from Sumatra (or perhaps Bangka, Bintan?). If the male is fully coloured, the caudal fin should be nearly black. Nice paros!

Many thanks Martin.
You have been much kind and precise one.
It will not be easy, but I hope to succeed to reproduce they.
Ciao Andrea e benvenuto !
Sono belle pesce....
Tanti auguri !
